Cassotis<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this 5<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;article we continue and conclude, for the time being, the recording of the Karpathian couplets related to foreignness and the Karpathians in America (all couplets that follow are in free translation).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Manolis Makris<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manolis Makris dealt with the traditional songs and couplets of Karpathos and the Dodecanese in general and is the author of highly valuable folklore works. What the bee takes from the flowers, Makris also took from our popular poetic tradition, to give it to future generations who \u2013 at that time \u2013 will not understand what emotional vibrations created these small masterpieces of art, they will admire but the effort and passion of its \u201cservant\u201d. Among other things, he collected and published the \u201cDodecanese Traditional Couplets\u201d, from which the following Karpathian couplets, which have a theme of foreignness, were swords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 Mother, when you go to church, light a candle for me,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and say that you gave birth to me to be
