The Dodecanese of America cut their Vasilopita<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 1950, when the Dodecanese Federation was founded, it continues to be the connecting link of the Dodecanese in America. Every year it organizes the Feast of the Unification of the Dodecanese with Greece, participates in the March 25th<\/sup> parade on New York\u2019s 5th<\/sup> Avenue, and at the same time organizes various Dodecanese events and participates in many national and expatriate gatherings and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, this year too, celebrated and cut its vasilopita in the church of Saint Catherine in Astoria, officiated by the priestly head of the Community, archpriest Anargyros Economos and archimandrite Gedeon, in the presence of several Dodecanese and many other compatriots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the end of the Divine Liturgy, a reception followed in the \u201cNikos Andriotis\u201d hall where the vasilopita was cut, and the attendees were offered traditional dishes, coffee and refreshments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her greeting, the president of the Federation, Maria Maragou, wished Happy New Year for our community and progress for our societies. All the events of the Federation and in general of our societies help the Dodecanese of America to keep their ties strong and pass them on to the next generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
