Later in 1925, on the initiative of Nicholas Karapezounis, the Kastelorizians of New York met: Nicholas Karapezunis, Andreas K. Michalakis, Konstantine S. Passaris, Kimon K. Michalakis, Sotiris Jacob Sotirakis, Nicholas Malaxos, Kostas N. Kypraios, Anthony Christou, Konstantine S. Gabriel, Kyriakos S. Passaris, Athanasius Tsakounis, Johns Nikolas, Peter S. Merzanis, Michael A. Savvas, George Charlatanos, Anthony D. Kypraios, Nicholas J. Sotirakis, George J. Sotirakis and Anthony Pappas and founded the \u201cKastelorizian Brotherhood\u201d with Andreas K. Michalakis as president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of the Brotherhood was to stimulate and maintain the feeling of solidarity among its members and to help Kastelorizo \u200b\u200bwhich was oppressed by Fascist Italy at the time. In 1926, when Kastelorizo \u200b\u200bwas hit by a terrible earthquake, the Brotherhood helped the earthquake victims with money, food and clothing. The mobilization of the Dodecanese of America for the liberation and integration of the Dodecanese into Mother Greece, found the Brotherhood on the side of the Dodecanese Youth and the National Dodecanese Council. After the war it contributed to the establishment of the Dodecanese Federation, and ever since participates in its work and events and in the national objectives of the Greek American Community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Brotherhood\u2019s presidents were Andreas Michalakis, Nicholas Malaxos, Kimon Michalakis, Peter Merzanis, Michael Savvas, Apostolos Kailis, Kyriakos Passaris and Evangelia Gruz. The Kastelorizian Brotherhood also took care of the Kastelorizians who survived the fire that broke out in the Empire Patrol<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On March 22, 1934, the Association sent a letter of protest to Mussolini for the extortion suffered by the residents of Kastelorizo, signed by: G. Berveris, D. Berveris, K. Gerolimos, N. Geronikolas, J. Zervas, N. K. Zervos, Elias Kaletzis, St. Kalafatis, Nick Karazepounis, Anthony Komninos, J. Komninos, Jacob Koutsoukos, M. Kypraios, Ant. Kypraios, Christ Lekintzis, P. Loizos, Eut. Magiagis, N. K. Malaxos, K. Mandalis, P. N. Mastropanagiotis, A. K. Michalakis, K. Michalakis, Kimon Michalakis, Vas. Nikoglou, John Nicholas, K. Nicholas, Ant. Panigiris, Chr. Papastatikos, K. Passaris, Ag. Pitsikalis, Ap. Petroumanos, S. Saxas, N. Sotirakis, Sot. Sotirakis, Ath. Tsakounis, D. Chaitas, P. Chaitas, Ant. Christou, Vas. Christou, Evagelos Christou, Panagiotis Christou, Christos Christou and other Kastelorizians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During WWII, the Brotherhood helped financially, with food and clothing, the refugees who, due to the war operations and the disasters suffered by Kastelorizo, left the island and took refuge in Cyprus and Palestine. But even after their return and the wreck of the Empire Patrol, the Brotherhood sent to the remaining inhabitants of the island money, food and clothing. The Brotherhood, even after the liberation, continued to help their devastated island, such as with financial assistance for the completion of the Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1940, the Kastelorizian association \u201cSaint Konstantine and Helen\u201d was founded in Pittsburgh PA, and the election of the Board of Directors followed: president Dimitrius Papadimitriou, vice-president Emmanuel Chalkitis, secretary John Elias Zambelas, treasurer Michael Mastropanagiotis, members John P. Nitis, Nicholas G. Manolios, Panagiotis Stambolis, George V. Malaxos and Philippas Patragas.
