The dance of the Pigadiotans of Karpathos in American Association, \u201cPoseidon\u201d, was not held with a diner dance, as was later established. The female members of the association prepared traditional food and mezedes at home and brought them to the dance. She then expanded her energy to the Karpathian Federation, Pan-Karpathian Foundation, Dodecanese Federation and other Greek associations. Among other things, she donated and raised significant amounts for these associations and organizations and for charitable purposes and participated in political organizations that supported Greek national rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zoe Zavola-Koutsoupakis was born in Sudan where her family was. But when she was still a year old, due to the situation prevailing in Sudan, her family returned to Karpathos. After a while, her father, John Nikitas Zavolas, emigrated to America where his family followed him later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduating from high school in America, Zoe attended New York University and worked in banking with Atlantic Bank. Also, the weekly magazine of the National Herald of New York dedicated the April 24, 2010, edition to Zoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This summer, while on vacation in Karpathos, she died suddenly of a heart attack.
