The<\/strong> <\/strong>Symians<\/strong> <\/strong>celebrated<\/strong> <\/strong>Panormitis<\/strong> <\/strong>in<\/strong> <\/strong>America<\/strong> <\/strong>with<\/strong> <\/strong>a<\/strong> <\/strong>traditional<\/strong> <\/strong>feast<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As has been established for decades, on Sunday, November 2, the Simian society of New York, \u201cAegle\u201d, celebrated Panormitis, the Patron Saint of the island, with a mass and \u201cartoklasia\u201d at the church of St. Catherine in Astoria, New York, followed by a reception in the \u201cAndriotis\u201d hall at the same church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festivities in honor of Panormitis continued with a traditional feast on Saturday, November 8, in the same hall. Young and old celebrated and honored the patron saint of the island, danced the traditional dances of Symi and listened to the traditional songs of the island. Those presents were offered traditional food and other delicacies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
